Antique Square Gold Filled Etched Locket With Shield and Scroll Top 1910s
This antique gold-filled locket dates to around 1918 and features an elegant rounded square shape with a detailed scrolled top. The front showcases an etched foliate border and a blank shield cartouche, ready for personalization, while the reverse has a finely textured matte finish with beaded edging. The locket has two internal frames and celluloid covers. These lockets were sentimental pieces, often used to hold portraits or small mementos. Lockets of this style are shown in the 1918 catalog Everything in Jewelry and Photo Jewelry by H.M. Hauer, a wholesale jewelry manufacturer.
